MICHAEL HUNT; IN MY OPINION; White was a blessing to watch on the At least off the field, Reggie White was never the most elegant of men. There was the matter of the Inner City Church of Knoxville, Tenn. The good people of Wisconsin who donated heavily to its rebuilding after the fire are still waiting for an accounting of the money. There was the matter of White's decision to un-retire in 2000 and play a relatively meaningless and largely mercenary season with the Carolina Panthers. There was the matter of White's involvement with pro wrestling and his silly 1997 bout with Steve McMichael. There was the matter of "Reggie's Prayer," maybe the worst sports movie ever made, which is really saying something, apparent by its casting of renown thespians Brett Favre, Mike Holmgren and Bryce Paup. And then there was the matter of White's 1998 comments before the Wisconsin state legislature, in which he spoke about Asians, Latinos, blacks, whites, Native Americans, gays and lesbians in context of his religious beliefs.
