[ Two future brides discovered engagement rings... ] Two future brides discovered engagement rings in unusual places. And one newlywed couple met at church. The couples are pictured on these pages. Wayne Becker turned the marriage proposal into a fine art. When Wayne wanted to propose to Sara Martin, he took her to an art gallery opening in Wichita on Dec. 1, 2001. It was a formal, black tie affair. The couple visited various rooms, viewing the art and sipping champagne. The piece de resistance emerged when Sara came upon the most beautiful art object of all: A diamond ring on display under a glass dome. A sign on the display read, "Sara, will you be my wife?" "My eyes filled with tears," Sara said. "My heart was racing and I turned to look at Wayne, who was already down on one knee, asking, 'Sara, will you marry me?'" Sara said, "Yes." The couple met through friends at a New Year's Eve party that welcomed in the year 2000. Wayne and Sara have been together for more than two years, but they have never lived in the same city. But they always celebrate New Year's Eve in high style. Kyna FitzGerald and Christopher Croft met at Light of the World Christian Center, where both continue to attend church.(Continue Reading)
